These kids are doing okay in this protected bike lane on Chicago, but i almost had an anxiety attack when they turned east on Washington which only has a painted murder stripe. Everyone deserves to be able to get around safely. This is a policy fail by the city of Chicago. #BikeChi

Most days, on either type of bike, Iām passing or keeping up with car traffic. They may as well reduce the car speed limits to 15 mph since they rarely get to 25 mph.
I have an e-bike (class2) and pedal bikes, I can hit the same speeds on both (just not for the same duration).

Now the city needs a program to seize scooters and pay bikes left on the sidewalk and have the companies pay a fine to get them back. Like the divvy in the picture parked on the sidewalk. The companies can always charge the user who left the violating object on the sidewalk.

Iāve had a few occasions, when I was exhausted, where I grabbed the back of one and had it pull me up the southbound hill. Even with that, they are more of a nuisance than the people who walk 5 wide.
