The trials for mRNA vaccine for SARS were scheduled to start in 2020. Because of the Chinese scientist who posted the COVID-19 sequence, they were able to substitute the RNA sequence. I was concerned about the rapid rollout until I learned that this project had been going on for a decade

Indigenous data governance sounds niche, but it's foundational. Why should they trust outsiders with their data after the way they have been treated. Eg reusing DNA collected for studying diabetes to study alcoholism without consent. Not sharing credit and funding w/ indigenous scientists

You can charge EVs at a RV campsite, level 1/2 depending on the campsite. Because of the remoteness of national parks, it would be expensive to build transmission for EV charging inside the parks. (they don't have gas stations, either.)

It's like that after every concert or other crowd event. Just walk away from the congestion. Also avoids uber/lyft surge pricing. I also suggest taking the first bus going in the direction you want to go. Then get picked up where the bus route is closest to your destination

Between last fall and today, there have been over 3 million out-patient visits, over 300,000 hospitalizations and over 30,000 deaths from COVID. This data comes from a presentation at the the June ACIP meeting extrapolated forward. Now there will likely be more as RFK Jr. consolidates his power. 4/

If my friend's sister hadn't sent her a box of 20 N95s from her wildfire kit, she might have been a casualty as well. Trump family was hoarding and profiteering off PPE that belonged to the public. Industry offshored all PPE production so we had no domestic supply. F- response all around

A Covid ward RN told me that their janitor was sent in to clean up rooms without PPE, she caught Covid and died. Vaccines weren't available yet. Their hospital locked up PPE, claimed that the person w/ the keys was unavailable, told everyone to work without PPE or bring from home

We spent $25,000 in 2015 dollars to remove asbestos from our Boulder condo. But I respect the alt text in the quoted post. The asbestos was installed because it is extremely useful. We just hadn't thought through all potential problems down the road. #MinCup25

A local leader who had once been opposed to housing is now calling for "all the towers" so that we can have housing and plenty of open space for trees, plants and artwork. I think her vision of public sculptures all around town is great. We can link them with protected bike lanes!

I need to post the video of 50 kids on foot and bike being sent through an intersection by school crossing guards in 55 seconds. Our city calls them packets. Keeps kids safer. Clears roads for drivers faster. Drivers pull over for 2 minutes to let kids pass.

You still need grid support, but SoCal Costcos plaster their roofs with solar panels and install a dozen or so chargers. Get gas or charge up while you shop. Local grocery stores also have a handful of chargers and rooftop solar
