The trials for mRNA vaccine for SARS were scheduled to start in 2020. Because of the Chinese scientist who posted the COVID-19 sequence, they were able to substitute the RNA sequence. I was concerned about the rapid rollout until I learned that this project had been going on for a decade

Indigenous data governance sounds niche, but it's foundational. Why should they trust outsiders with their data after the way they have been treated. Eg reusing DNA collected for studying diabetes to study alcoholism without consent. Not sharing credit and funding w/ indigenous scientists

An image of the crystal structure of Chrysotile, blue spheres represent silicon atoms, red spheres oxygen atoms and orange magnesium. They are arranged in a layered structure. Dark blue spheres represent silicon, red spheres oxygen, yellow spheres represent sodium, light blue calcium and there's a sneeky little hydrogen represented by a white sphere in there too. I'm a big fan of Bemberg rayon linings. I prefer it to acetate linings, despite high prices that overlap with cheaper silks. But the patented process (originally invented in Germany) uses toxic salts. American manufacturers closed rather than upgrade en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._P._B...

Make no mistake, everything that’s happening in the United States is being significantly enabled by the right wing oligarch capture of media. Every other country needs to do everything possible to keep that from happening where they are. Including protecting the CBC from Poilievre here in Canada.

As a kid, my family used to spend Labor Day weekend camping with a few other families. The moms did basically everything, and the dads' "help" often wasn't. Like when my dad tried to reheat pizza by putting the box over the fire. Or spent a whole day rigging up a mini TV to watch a football game. 1/

You still need grid support, but SoCal Costcos plaster their roofs with solar panels and install a dozen or so chargers. Get gas or charge up while you shop. Local grocery stores also have a handful of chargers and rooftop solar

Don’t print lies in the newspapers. Don’t keep platforming the lying liars to performatively lie on your teevee shows. End the interviews immediately if you’ve messed up by inviting them anyway & they once again performatively lie in public. What is journalism, anyway?
