Things have certainly been interesting these last few days.
I still think that framerate issues aside, the single-player experience in Legends Arceus was more interesting and DEFINITELY more challenging. The only thing that challenged me more than the Guardian pokemon in S/V was one particular boss in the 2nd DLC.

Legends Arceus has no multiplayer experience, but if you don't care for that, I think it's the better choice. It doesn't drop 1500 frames a second when you're in a city, for one.

That's not like "Ohhh I can give my child GTA", that's "I can put nuance in a video game meant for kids and have something to bond and discuss with them about as a parent." If you make it an experience that the parent can enjoy, too, it makes customers of both the child and the parent.
I think it's a genuine problem that some people and a lot of corporations thinks that something that can be enjoyed by kids, should only be enjoyed by kids, and make active steps to infantilize their projects to the point that it insults the smarts of children. It makes them actively stupider.
