We recently adopted a beagle mix and he's the greatest! So friendly, loveable, and funny.

7000 people live in downtown Pittsburgh currently but it's a lot of students and young professionals without kids. To bring in elderly and kids they need more grocery options, schools, and parks. We lived at the Commonwealth on Fourth for six months and really enjoyed it.
As someone living between Houston and Pittsburgh, I find Pittsburgh freeways downtown to be really pretty good in that walkability and the natural beauty of the city are maintained.

I tried to get simple design ideas for our small, oddly shaped yard and it was unable do generate even the most basic sketches. Spent an hour on what I could have done in ten minutes with a pen and a napkin.
Ramping up putting US citizens into foreign and domestic camps. Large cities in blue states will be next.

Where did you hang out in Houston? I'm one of few who really like aspects of Houston but the weather and state government are oppressive. Chicago and Savannah are my favorites and recently bought a house in Pittsburgh and will leave Texas behind for good in the spring.

Born in Seattle and now in Pittsburgh and talking to family about the hills in both places. From that conversation: Highest point in Seattle is 520 ft above sea level compared to 1371 in Pittsburgh. Seattle lowest point is at sea level and Pittsburgh is 710 ft above sea level.

What determines if a state is red or blue is the ratio of urban to rural areas. In Washington state the population in what's a relatively small land mass outmaths the rural areas. Texas has several blue megacities that are overwhelmed by rural areas the size of France.

The all year mold pollen is what got me. Was super sick for a year before getting it under control. I grew up in Seattle too which you'd think was worse.
An independent Texas would be like having a local version of Iran, right down to the theocracy, oppression of women, and nukes. They would absorb the other red states in < five years and we're all in a much worse spot than today.

I have friends and family in the Pacific Northwest who look down their nose at me because I moved from Seattle to Austin/ Houston while they themselves live in a rural part of the state and know full well that they haven't seen a person of color in six months.

The key to Houston is to never leave the loop unless you're going to an airport. That keeps one close to the 80 sq miles of parks in Houston.
Protracted. We bought just north of downtown in April but my job requires I live in Texas so it's a lot of visits until next spring. Got us a Pittsburgh rescue though!

I lived in Austin, TX the summer there were one hundred days over 100 degrees and by the end we couldn't remember what it was like to be cold. We might regret moving to Pittsburgh but not for a few years at least. 😁
