What you are doing here is basically the equivalent of Greg Wallace saying Autism made him a creep - no it didn't. Just as no mental illness (which he may or may not have) has made Linehan evil. He has made a choice and that choice is solely within his control.
Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social) reply parent
1. You can't diagnose people with a psychiatric condition based on their posts. 2. With the exception of a very few conditions that create psychosis or mania, no mental health conditions remove agency or generate false beliefs.

His arrest on Tuesday was not related to the trial he is on today. Words 'habitual criminal' drifting over the horizon.
Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social) reply parent
He has agency and knows what he is doing. Don't ascribe people being cunts to mental illness, it is offensive as it implies mental illness = bad person. He may or may not have a psychiatric condition, but that is an aside to him being an absolute cunt.

Graham Linehan once took issue with a sketch I did and tweeted about me referring to me not by name but only as to who my boyfriend was and called me an NPC ( non player character.) It was misogynistic and his “standing up for women” schtick is baloney.

Most conveyancing operations are a bunch of 22 year old paralegals and a solicitor may spend about 20 minutes in total with the file. No one who looked at it will have been familiar with the tax implications of a nesting arrangement with a trust in favour of the child.

Reminder, the police already have a under s.60AA Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to require masks to be removed. A blanket law is not because police need more power - it just makes it much harder for vulnerable people to oppose fascists who use Doxxing as a weapon.

The Online Safety Act is supposed to compel social media sites to do things like take down explicit calls for violence. Instead you have to use a VPN to access Bluesky DMs and Linehan is supposed to be free to incite violence on twitter 🤷♂️

What makes it weirder is defunct regimental titles get given to battalions within regiment. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders are a Company within the wider Royal Regiment of Scotland, alongside other former Regiments such as the Black Watch.

So even if his case was precedent making (it isn't) then Mr Linehan would still be validly facing charges. Moral of the story, in any case, don't use a big platform to demand people be attacked.
Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social) reply parent
A crown court jury verdict is not a county court judgement. It does not come with reasons so does not provide a precedent to follow. Also, I doubt Mr Linehan would be charged with the same offence as Mr Jones, he tweeted rather than made a speech. So he'll likely be hit with different charges.
Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social) reply parent
Crown Courts do not set precedent, precedent setting would only take place in the Court of Appeal. So unless there's an Attorney General's reference made, that case will remain a footnote.

Curious what is on the list. There's lots they could do, lots they should do, but not much 'has impact on next 12 months'. Like I'd commit to full HS2, bring forward EV date, big spend on housing insulation, big push for social housing - but that's all slow.
Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social) reply parent
No. That not be a button press. That would be a long gruelling process and would take a good 5 to 10 years for tangible results. I'm pro-EU, but we need a stable political culture we currently do not have in order to rejoin. The EU would never accept a UK that might elect reform.

Harry (@harry-is-human.bsky.social)
So the Refugee Hotel near me is close to a bunch of warehouses. Trying to imagine how this gets implemented. 1) The Home Office apply for planning permission for change of use - lots of solid grounds for rejection by local authority. 2) if they get passed 1 they spend a lot of money carefully...
