Is one of them called "Rejoin the EU"?
Is one of them called "Rejoin the EU"?
No. At least, that's nowhere near the top of the list.
I'm in favour of it personally, I guess, but I don't think it's sufficient or even necessary.
Curious what is on the list. There's lots they could do, lots they should do, but not much 'has impact on next 12 months'. Like I'd commit to full HS2, bring forward EV date, big spend on housing insulation, big push for social housing - but that's all slow.
Asylum processing in France would stop the boats tomorrow. Nationalise water, power and rail. Invest in a public works programme, backed with free education to degree level. Expand medical schools. Reprofessionalise teacher training and close academy schools. Wealth tax and COVID windfall tax.
I agree with these. I think Asylum processing in France is the only one I'd say is quick. Although with rail I don't fully know why they're waiting so long to kick off the rebranding, they're not showing change is happening.
We're in this hellholl where not only are Labour doing really shit stuff, they seem only prepared to communicate the shit and sideline all the popular stuff theyre doing on energy, transport and so forth.
More people support renewables than like Pizza, so why are you hiding from the fact you're doing lots of renewables? Where is the ministerial statement celebrating the commissioning of Dogger Bank wind farm?
Getting the Renters Rights Bill and Employment Rights Bill on through the door is quick I guess - should have been done months ago.
Yeah like, I'm really struggling to think of a "just do this" quick popular fix.
No. That not be a button press. That would be a long gruelling process and would take a good 5 to 10 years for tangible results. I'm pro-EU, but we need a stable political culture we currently do not have in order to rejoin. The EU would never accept a UK that might elect reform.
