This list of Democratic members of Congress reads like the roster at a nursing home. There is no conceivable way that reps like Steny Hoyer who are pushing 90 can effectively oppose a fascist takeover of our government. It's going to be up to our generation to fight this war.
What do I have to say to get Steny Hoyer to retire? Jerry Nadler was my parents' state assemblyman when they moved to the Upper West Side in 1978, but Steny had already been a state rep in Maryland for 11 years by that point.

Andy Harris is a blight on Maryland and I welcome his elimination from Congress. He and every Republican voted against HR1 in 2021, which would've ended partisan gerrymandering through independent redistricting commissions (it passed the House but Senate GOP filibustered it).
Voters know what we're against, but what are we for? Dems are absolutely right to call out racism and abuse, but ultimately we need our own immigration plan. Australia and Canada have strict, point-based systems and have largely avoided the same right-wing populist backlash.

Time will tell whether that's a good thing! Russia is nearly the exact opposite: they had a ton of OMON forces specifically to black-bag protesters and prevent any sort of uprising. Many OMON were sent to Ukraine to make up for the lack of a real military and got turned into fertilizer.
