I don’t blame the actors I don’t blame anyone but I cant deny the sense that something is missing. Im all for letting the show have its own flavor rather than forcing it into 90’s Trek mold but I would be lying if I didn’t say It leaves me wanting more.
It keeps me longing for stories with the depth and complexity of 90’s era Trek. But for the most part everything kind of feels topical. I know they are capable of more depth of story bc even Disco had more to offer in that regard. It makes me sad more than angry.

Why is it every single time except one in all Trek any time there is a Warp Core breach in progress the Warp Core Ejection System is offline! Shouldn’t there be multiple safety redundancies in the ejector system make sure that if you need to eject the warp core the bloody system wont get stuck? 😅

SNW released a social media post with the cast that appeared in Disco Mount, Romain, Peck that they were listening to the fans and were spinning off to SNW in that post they promised self contained eps no serialization a more positive look on the future etc. I think they delivered with a “but” 🤷🏽
You’re right only difference was Orville was marketed as a Comedy show. And they phased that out over a couple of seasons. But I think Seth realized he didn’t have to make Orville what everyone expected of it plus he is a Trek fan so Orville was his own Cosplay on crack. More power to him.

I luv Trek Good Bad or Ugly Then Now & Forever but the mix of serious & comedic vibes is jarring never has a Trek show intending to be serious put the serious to comedic ratio with a lean towards comedic in this fashion b4 so it has us enjoying the show but checking our watches like “we got 2 left!”
Yes 26 eps gives you more time to include silly or whimsical eps. This show doesn’t seem to know what its trying to be a comedy or a serious Sci Fi drama. Which is creating confusion amongst fans.

On top of that I get that most Trek shows don’t want to rely on fan service apart from the Gorn & Trelane. But a second run in with Nagilum or the Doomsday Machine wouldn’t hurt anyone. 2/3
I have yet to see this weeks ep. But I agree that though I love SNW I would be lying if I didn’t say I want more. It feels like most eps are mid season fillers which you can’t really do in a 10 ep season. 1/3

I don’t know why but it always bothered me that throughout the run of TNG Dr. Crusher referred to Deanna more times than not as Troi. Every time making me think to myself “She’s your friend call her Deanna” in the first 2 seasons completely understandable but by Season 6 its odd. A small nitpick 🤷🏽

In STO I acquired the mirror universe version of the ship which has the shuttle bay doors open where you can see inside to the Bay. Bc it was a mirror ship I named it and all my subsequent mirror ships with Palindromes this being named the USS Rotator which is also very apt if I do say so myself 😁
