We do care. Well maybe I can’t speak for a National ‘we’ but I do, I know many others who do and feel so strongly that we must have proper funding for palliative care wherever it is needed. Every one has the right to die with dignity, going gently into the night.

You’re right - but we can always hope…. Somehow the legal requirements of the bill seem quite scary and final. We need a gentler way to go…. And regardless of the result of the vote we do need to prioritise palliative care. Somehow.
Is there not a case to increase spending on proper palliative care and hospices? Where dying is more of a ‘go gently into the night’ than ‘go now’?

I agree. Palliative care is so needed, with care and compassion and dignity. We need more hospices, we need to CARE…. Something which seems to be neglected in the true sense of the word. Death is inevitable but it needs as much care as living….
