On this VJ day I should tell the tale of my Grandad, he served in the Hong Kong Police and spent the duration of the War after the fall of HK in an Internment camp in Stanley. Before it fell he met the Japanese delegation demanding their surrender. He returned to the Hong Kong Police after the war

Hammersmith Bridge has finally reopened for both pedestrians and cyclists after being closed for over seven years. Although there was a brief reopening last year, it was short-lived and limited to cyclists only. Now, seeing it fully open again feels great.
