I wing it, but I think the key to success is a good bag of Bob’s Red Mill split peas, mirepoix, good olive oil. 1:2 ratio of peas to liquid. I used chicken broth, but water works too. Little parm rind half way, Old Bay, Rancho Gordo Castillo pepper, garlic.
You better make sure it’s grilled to perfection.

I’ve owned my house for 20 years and I just pointed 5 firefighters the wrong direction when responding to an alarm. 🫠 I have a great sense of direction, but our numbering here is ridiculous. And I couldn’t chase them down because of crutches. I’m sure they love me now.

Good movie. Cusack was great. I used to go to Detroit for business pretty regularly and I remember going through Gross Pointe and then within literal feet there was a chain link fence and extreme poverty on the other side. Such a strange part of the world. Makes for a fascinating movie setting.
