Cell-site simulators (CSS, also known as Stingrays or IMSI catchers) are devices that masquerade as legitimate cell-phone towers, tricking phones within a certain radius into connecting to the device rather than a tower. Our tool, Rayhunter, can help you find them. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

It was fun to hear how Mike pieced these together.

They are still one of the best shows i've ever seen.

BREAKING: One of the most important and prominent reporters on the ground in Gaza has been Anas Al Sharif. He - and several other Al Jazeera journalists - have just been assassinated by Israelis forces whilst in their press tent in central Gaza. Speechless.

Pride Month is here guys, buckle up for some a-grade pandering from the same folks bankrolling obliteration

What a horrible guy! Not only this, but he's cozying up to Uber/Lyft and Grubhub- They want to overturn the NYC minimum wage for drivers and delivery couriers.

I'm not a parent, but - Yes! When my sister was three or four, she threw a plastic block at my Mom's face and it put a hole through her cheek, straight to her cheek. She had to get stitches

Join us for a Sunday matinee screening of the South African documentary 'Milisuthando' in New York tomorrow at the New York African Film Festival. Read a review of the film on AIAC: africasacountry.com/2023/06/memo...

I have music in this beautiful documentary. It's screening as a part of the NY African Film Festival. If you have a chance, please go see it. It is a deeply poetic examination of apartheid South Africa and it's broader global implications- It's an active viewing experience- a conversation

lol. To be fair, the Australians had a few strong unions at that point and were able to nationalize it. To make a comparison - While Australians won an 8 hr work day, France still had a 16 hr work day. I like to think the French remember this epigenetically & that's why their protests are bonkers

Actually - it started in New Zealand in 1840 by English carpenter Samuel Parnell. He demanded it when he arrived to NZ & afterwards he went down to the docks daily to tell newly arriving workers to demand it. The idea travelled to Australia where it was adopted by strong national union federations.

First time I rolled into Chapel Hill to visit a friend (20 yrs ago) - Funny intro scene but Eric Bachmann was driving in his pickup next to me on the highway.

Costco may have continued with equitable hiring practices, which is extremely important-but let's not praise them too much-they're also union busters. That story about raising wages-it was just for the stores that aren't trying to unionize-those stores don't get the raise.

Seeing Kevin play live is always worth it! I met Jim and Kevin in 99, when I moved there and at that point there was probably more than 15 ✌🏼👀

Can you point in me in the direction of an article on this? I've only seen large accounts on social media speak of it -and just did a google search and came up only with articles from 2020 -The previous election. I know it's not your job, but I'm only seeing articles about the complaint and not data

I don't think it was stolen- sadly. The vote differential was around 3 million. The vote was definitely suppressed though. Rollbacks of mail-in ballot options in many states and bomb threats in swing states. Protests are not at critical mass, but they are definitely getting larger.
Ian Epps (@ianepps.bsky.social) reply parent
Says the politician who can't even acknowledge a genocide. I'll take Ta-Nehisi Coates. “...why can’t the Democratic Party defend this assault on democracy . . . and I would submit to you that if you can’t draw the line at genocide, you probably can’t draw the line at democracy.”

"Look, I get protests in front of my house all the time, but they have to have a permit and they have to obey certain rules." Schumer is old enough to know that you didn't always need a permit- requiring a permit was/is an attempt to restrict freedom of protest.

have spent the last month writing a ton of stuff and not really talking about it so gonna share a bit. For Sight & Sound I reviewed the documentary MILISUTHANDO, a personal journal that doubles as an examination of how South African apartheid lingers: www.bfi.org.uk/sight-and-so...

was in a crazy ice storm in 1991. Our whole city was an emergency zone. Trees down and blocking every street - snapped power lines dangling in the street. A tree came down and busted into our upstairs bathroom. Was a frigid two weeks.
