King Kong, 1976. I've been wanting to see this for long time, 70s version of the classic. I really enjoyed it, 40 years on in colour was a good enough reason to attempt a new version but they did avoid dinosaurs! The last great version of the tale attempted with practical effects.
Very sad to hear that Christopher H Bidmead, #DoctorWho season 18 script editor and writer has died. He wrote Logopolis, Castrovalva and Frontios and heavily shaped the 1980-1 era, bringing a different style for Tom Baker's farewell year. A generation became fans during that season.
He was really quite wonderful as a narrator, too
