I doubt this. He's already boxed himself in by saying the program is deader than Julius Caesar, and his base hates it. (One of the few things he's done that his base can't just rationalize away.)
The UN has only allowed military action three times: Korea, Gulf 1, and Libya. The "preemptive self-defense" concept is pretty rubbery and does not prohibit *PREEMPTIVE* attacks. In theory, it prohibits *preventive* war, but no one agrees now on what that is.

No, what I’m saying is that if ppl actually cared about the cause they would be smart and not give Trump any wins. Optics matter. Ppl who scream “Don’t tell me what to do!” and “It’s my right!” when they are confronted with the ways their actions hurt their cause tell me they don’t care about it.
And this is exactly the problem I have with so many protests nowadays. It just seems like the purpose of them is to make the protestors feel good and not to actually effect any change.
But in the end, I think people need to ask themselves what the purpose of the protest is. If it’s to make themselves feel good, then sure, do whatever. If one actually wants change, though, strategic thinking and taking good advice and thinking about optics and the long term is the best idea.

I don't insist that others in a coaltion share all my views. But I'd like one group in that coalition not to blow things up for everyone else by using dumb strategies.
This binary thinking is childlike and exhausting. In the battle for public opinion, people who see these images might not actively become Trump supporters, but they'll see images that support *his* narrative, think "all sides are crazy," and tune out. That's a win for Trump.
The images now reinforce his message: Blue state + chaos + Mexico You and I might know it's a lie, but the issue is how it plays where *he* is targeting them: PA, WI, the Midwest, swing districts, etc.
That sums it up. Nothing wrong with flying national flags. But these are the pictures Trump and Miller were hoping for, and you'll see them again.
