Our culture perpetuates our trauma by equating resilience with weakness & honesty as negative thinking. We become survivors while society views us as broken, thereby inferior in value. This presents a new trauma we must overcome. If necessary, spite can serve as motivation, recovery the prize.

CPTSD isn't the enemy. Fighting against it is an unnecessary war with oneself. It's an extension of survival mode & therefore interprets everything as potential harm. Each day, we prove to ourselves we are safe & each day, CPTSD relaxes its hold. We learn to trust the world again.
We're pretty selective about who we're close with. If he's close to you, then he trusts you greatly. We're weird until we're around other autistics, then we realize we're pretty "average." 🙂
