I think of myself as an “Optimistic Nihilist”, which boils down to “life is whatever you make of it”. When others outside your control make life crappy, the optimism part gets difficult. I suppose that’s where the melancholy steps in for a while to take the load.

I said learn, not teach. If someone expects to be taught well by an AI, yeah, they’re going to fail. But a good learner can still use AI as one tool among many. The guy at the top of this thread that gave up? Not a good learner.
Of course not. That’s the validation part I mentioned that needs to be done. I hope you don’t uncritically read books either. Do you trust every author you read?
True, AI is a poor teacher. But that doesn’t mean you can’t learn things by using AI. That’s different—pull vs push.
The key is what you do with that information. Do you stop there and consider yourself taught? Do you work to understand what you’ve just read? Do you seek other sources to validate it?
I think that’s swinging too far in the other direction. If you treat AI as a tool, not the answer, then it can aid in learning. Whether by asking AI, searching Google, or even reading books, it’s fundamentally the same activity: discovering what others have said or written about a topic.

She doesn’t have to, but she might choose to. If she’s a kinder person that never wanted it, if she loves him enough to teach him a lesson without crossing a line, because it’s a better twist ending. There’s all sorts of reasons.
I just think it makes for a better, kinder story than “haha, told you so”.
It would be even funnier if she never met anyone at all and just stayed at a friend’s place each time, just to show him what it’s like.
