I’m so sad to see my state is pink for kids despite being solid blue for adults. I’m assuming it’s due to clinic closures. If only I won the powerball, I’d use all that money to open up a bunch of clinics for trans youth here.
For those of college age, the easiest way to do that is to apply to colleges overseas. It’s certainly not a sure fire path towards citizenship but it does at least get you of here for the next 4 years. And you can use federal student loans at many universities in Canada and Europe.
I can’t believe they make couples undergo interviews in the UK to prove themselves b4 they can get married. And that OP had to go through that 3x for the same relationship is just disgusting. Shame on the UK.
Wow that’s really messed up. I’m so glad we didn’t get married in the UK. When we moved to Ireland right after we got married (before SSM was legal there), they didn’t even bat an eye. They just referred to us as a married couple, no questions asked.

You do realize Germany is still an ethnostate right? It’s comprised of about ~71% ethnic Germans. Israel is comprised of about 74-75% ethnic Jews (so nearly comparable). Yet I don’t see you calling for the destruction of Germany. /1
The ONLY way we end of salvaging this nation (provided we make it out of the Trump era w/o a civil war and are able to elect a Dem Congress and POTUS) is to specifically amend the constitution to undo all of these rulings and SEVERELY curtain executive authority. And I’m doubtful that happens

And I’m not just relying on anecdotal evidence here. There are numerous studies that point this out that SPECIFICALLY look at STEM fields, and SWD in particular. We tried to make things more equitable (that’s what many of the DEI initiatives of the last 5-10 yrs were about) and look at the backlash.
But the issues start all the way back in the classroom starting in primary school (something I believe Jessica was pointing out—apologies if I’m putting words in your mouth Jessica). The system is rigged against EVERYONE else from the get go and it STAYS that way even through grad school. /4

Women especially need to work twice as hard to achieve half the recognition as their male counterparts and the pay gap is particularly egregious. Then factor in how hostile work environments often are for queer and trans individuals, Asian women, Black men and women. SWD is FAR from equitable. /2

And that’s not counting immigrants from all over the rest of the world also seeking to move to essentially a handful of countries, each with strict quotas regarding the number of work visas they can award. /3
Often you have to work in a specific field with specific academic credentials. And even then you are competing against millions of other applicants from all over the world trying to make similar moves. Israel alone has a population of ~7m ppl. If even half that was of working age, that’s 3.5m ppl /2
