Trump knew his tariff policy would put the U.S. in recession. Today he mumbled that during Trump 1.0 he had tariffs and no inflation increase. Thats because they weren’t global and all at once, like now www.cnbc.com/2025/04/10/t...

Article says China has 2.6% of treasuries, & they could screw with Trump by selling, which someone already did this week, making Trump blink on the 90 day pause However, a financial crisis game of chicken isn’t in China’s best interest either. Everyone gets hurt when treasuries get destabilized

Hassett said the same thing over the weekend. Lutnick, Trump and Bessant all counter-pointed this narrative Hassett trying to keep the markets from tumbling and his smirk is annoying

Yes looking grim. I checked right at 6:15 EST. Down 3.75% now and the S&P only at 4900. I think the 200 day moving average is still another 500 down to around 4500. It would be brutal to touch it tomorrow but it could happen. We might get a circuit breaker. Ugh. Brutal! Totally sucks

Now let’s have the guy do coffee and bananas. Tariffed, but basically needs 95% import.

Yes, exactly. My convo was about how China established new trade routes w Brazil for soybeans during Trump 1.0 and US farmers were gonna lose again w China tariffs Trump 2.0.

Kinda like the MAGA dude that told me only the libs need soybeans for their Japanese takeout and all the milk they drink. I had to remind him that soybeans are a staple of hogs, etc.

Exactly. You rarely hear that kind of downside aired out on TV in a short span. The dealbreaker for the gloom is the WH said no negotiations.

Two people on CNBC, about 15 min apart, have said that what’s been layed out is the worst case scenario, unexpected, and economists have not modeled this in. Wow. Right now the $DJIA ETF is off -1.37% = about 570 points The Dow isn’t really a good indicator although Trump actually watches it

After hours tickers on split screen, $SPY is down 2.25% and the $QQQ 3%+ as the never ending, run-on sentence keeps rambling. For those that don’t care, those numbers are also a reflection on the future of the economy for all of us.
