Lion lost the last of his parents a couple of years ago and all of their family is now gone.

lion was mascotting at a night game during a thunderstorm (forget the ground) when one of the light towers got hit by lightning and tripped out all the ground lighting.They got the power back on pretty smartly but the metal halide globes need to cool for about 15 mins before they would restrike .

Vizard tried the late show format here in Australia a few years ago, Inspired ,lion thinks, by Letterman. It didn't work.

Lion was never really a Disney fan, not even when he was a cub. He just saw them as yet another American corp after his money. Some of their movies he found OK and he visited their parks in CA and FL once, back in the 1990's when he went to the USA with a mate. He has NO desire to go back.
Best advice lion can give to people who want to keep in communication no matter what is to LEARN MORSE CODE. it can be sent with just about anything (even eye blinks) and recieved with the naked human senses, where necessary. A handcuffed prisoner once sent a short message using eye blinks alone.
Ham Radio is for COMMUNICATING. Getting messages out. Like they should be doing in Gaza and other places. HF radio can do what phones/internet/Satelite can't. It is STILL king in outback Australia.

TEK 492P spectrum analyser from the Czech republic. It arrived undamaged. Now to see it it works. Had to pay import fees and GST on it as well. as well. There were a few available in the USA on Ebay but no one would ship to Australia. He has pivoted his purchasing to China /Europe as a result.
Not lecturing at all, merely making an observation from the point of view of a Tech keeping their equipment working. Mainly dealt with the chefs as they were the ones that paid him. The cooks just told him what was wrong.
Oh they were . They were in their office doing paperwork snd ordering, making sure things ran smoothly while their line cooks got the menu out.

Lion also can't understand those who want to make their home kitchen look like a restuarant kitchen just for show. Home and commercial kitchens are two different animals. The only time one would do this is if you are producing food for sale at home.
Lion worked for a while repairing restaurant equipment and got to observe (and try and keep out of the way of) these people first hand. It was mutual respect. They wanted their gear fixed but didn't want their work interrupted during service.
They are professionals, Not so much the chefs as they are the bosses ( 'Chef' is just 'Boss' in French), Not all work in the kitchen alongside their staff. The line cooks on the other hand NEED to be superorganised just to cope with their workload. :)
Lion will have to put that one on his reading list as well. Also he should get an account on Academia so he can read the papers there. Also he has a question. If the Romans were reportadly persecuting Christians, where does that fit in?

Lion has had lots of scam emails supposedly from mygov. Easy to spot though. . He just 'hovers' his mouse over the 'from' to get the actual email it has come from. If it shows a 'gmail' adress, he sends it to the spam folder before deleting it to train the yahoo spam algo.
Lion remembers a time when electronic calculators were BANNED from school exams. Lion spent his first two years at TAFE , after he left school, using a slide rule. He only got a calculator, an Adler 108T,which he still has, in his third year. He kept his slide rule too and still knows how to use it.

Lion heard a story about a ham who once sent 5 bit Baudot ( teleprinter) code fast enough for it to be read a letter at a time by a teleprinter, with a hand key. Doable but you would need to be quick and get the spacings dead right. Memorizing the codes for lower case letters would be a challenge.

Quite an impressive concert, Epic ,in fact, especially the finale. Nothing like having an orchestra, 4 soloists and a huge choir virtually pinning lion to the back wall of a concert hall with a huge wall of sound, All unamplified. Better than a rock concert. :)
