Trump fans aren’t ever going to vote differently. If Trump punched them in the fact, they’d blame Democrats. It’s not about getting Trump fans to change. It’s about getting the few actual swing voters to change and more importantly getting Democratic voters to turn out.
I’m pretty sure they only care about money, so as long as those people have money, they’re cool with that.

I’ll just say I have some insight on one specific AmLaw 100 firm and how they’re already setting the table with employees on their justification for getting rid of their own DEI policies when the regime targets them. I suspect all firms will use the same justification for themselves.
They’re all businesses first and foremost and will capitulate like every other business has and will. Lawyers aren’t coming on white horses to save us.
What have they done to oppose him? They threw away the only chance they had to actually do anything.

I don’t care what you call it. “Tea Party” is a convenient shorthand for a wholesale change of the party to one that represents what people want instead of an outdated status quo because of that precedent.
They made Republicans worse because they were right-wing extremists. The point isn’t finding Democrats who support far-right policies. It is challenging the status quo in Democratic primaries and replacing them with Democrats who fit the moment we are facing instead of a bunch of feckless cowards.
And we will soon learn that all big law firms will be just as cowardly.

I wish it was financially feasible for more journalists to go independent, but obviously they can’t do the same kind of journalism without access to the resources they get at these large institutions.

I blame the journalists for this. People are looking for news that is willing to tell them the truth and not couch everything they say in a “both sides” narrative. Maybe if journalists would have risen to the moment, people wouldn’t be desperate to find their news elsewhere.
We need a Democratic Tea Party to bring in Democrats and leadership who understand the threat we are facing and are willing to actually fight it.
My takeaway has been that the majority of Democrats never believed any of the “democracy is under threat” stuff they kept saying and it was nothing more than political rhetoric they co-opted to try to win an election.

Lots of people will want to be represented by a law firm that has tight connections to the regime and can grease the wheels of power for them, though. Once the law doesn’t matter anymore, proximity to power is more important than your legal arguments.
But a BigLaw firm with a reputation of “we’re tight with the regime and can get you those connections for the right price” will actually be pretty good for business. The problem is that you still think the law matters. It doesn’t. Power is all that matters.

I continue to be amazed by how many people just don’t understand this and still think layers and judges are going to save us. These people don’t stand for anything other than their own wealth and power.

Define “win.” Will they get court decisions in their favor? Probably. Will the Trump regime follow those decisions? Probably not. Once you understand that the law doesn’t matter, only power, it makes sense.

I did call my Senators. None of them answered their phones or responded to my emails. They don't care. I'll be working to elect better ones when I can.
Let me know when anyone of them actually do anything other than make a tepid statement or sign their name to a letter. They have actual power that they are not using.
Calling Chuck Schumer is surrendering. We need to replace our members of Congress with some who aren't cowards and will fight. It's not fighting the tyrant to call people who actually recognize that he is a tyrant stupid for recognizing that and realizing that judges aren't going to save us.
The problem is that calling your member of Congress isn't fighting anything. They don't care what we think.
