Yeah, I can relate to that

Thatās so weird, I was convinced I had early stages dementia too!
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Part of my reason for finding out was to stop beating myself up about my failings. If there was a reason, I could be a bit kinder to myself. Plus, Iām hoping there are processes & coping strategies to ease the impact
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
Well, I didnāt expect to be diagnosed with ADHD at 45, but thatās what has happened and suddenly my life & my silly brain makes so much more sense
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I wasnāt actually on about his performances, but thatās a valid point too!
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
You wonāt see Konsa playing RB unless absolutely necessary. Thereās a reason that stopped happening

Iām struggling to enjoy the game too mate. Love the club, but the sport is a fucking racket

I think this transfer window has actually ruined meā¦
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Itās just been played out so publicly too. These sort of things have always happened, but in the old days you never heard about it. I know of an old local player, adored for his loyalty, who was off to West Brom if the dominoes fell. They didnāt, so he stayed.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
decision not to play Dibu, and he was ready to play, I just want to move on now. We have a world class keeper in the squad & if he applies himself correctly, not playing him will be self-sabotage. Heās got some grovelling to do, but wanting a new challenge in any job happens all the time. We move on
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
Wasnāt a bad window in the end, considering the ridiculous restrictions weāre trying to work to. Really excited by Elliott & Sancho could surprise a few. Still worries me a bit the defence is mostly what Emery inherited tho. And I suspect Iāll be alone here, but in light of the news it was Unaiās
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Yep, like this move. Iām not anti Sancho either, heād fit Emeryās style well youād think
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I can confirm theyāre my actual pants. I like them tight
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
If u think about, transfers normally break down due to the fee/payment structure etc. Itās rarely personal terms.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
As it happens, this is one thing I do know - he wanted the move. He wants a new challenge. Wages etc were agreed with Utd start of the window, but they wouldnāt pay the sale fee. This is why I thought yesterday meant they must have agreed to pay it
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Itās a mess isnāt it?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Go for it Sue!
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
Looks like Iām eating my pants. Genuinely sorry to everyone I insisted the deal for Dibu to Utd must be agreed. I gave him, his professionalism & his attitude towards the club far too much credit.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
3 games, 1 point, zero goals - International break has never been more welcome.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Just seen that. All very depressing at the moment, feels like an implosion

Hope weāve got some big fuck off rabbits to pull out of a bog fuck off magic hat tomorrow. Fuck PSR, fuck SCR. Fuck

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Iāll eat my underpants if all this is happening on a 50/50
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Itās not a football decision. Probably a combination of the factors youāve said. His personal terms were agreed at the start of the window, Utd just wouldnāt pay the fee until now
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Itās honestly not Jase. Heās gone because the deal is done, if it was still up in the air heād be playing
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
And yet, big players keep wanting to make the move over other clubs? Must be something in it, even if it doesnāt seem it
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Youāre missing the point Sue, him giving a fuck is irrelevant. If the club didnāt have it covered, he wouldnāt be leaving. The club donāt mind him going, weāve okād it, weāre under no obligation to sell
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Likewise, heās under contract. If heās going itās because weāre ok with it
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
He wonāt be leaving unless we have a replacement lined up. Players move, fans have to stop taking it so personally
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Thing is Sue, thereās not much choice. Heād have left earlier, but Utd wouldnāt pay the fee. Theyāve obviously changed their mind. The timing wonāt actually have anything to do with Emi. Windows close, but until then business is open
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Yep, another reason I didnāt think weād go with 2 wingers, to have something to come off the bench. Maybe weāre trying to pin their wingbacks back
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
You know how it works Jess. If itās all agreed you just send them on their way. Imagine he has to come on & gets injured? Just not the reality is it
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
Whoever I said to the other day that Emery never plays 2 wingers, I apologise. What the f*ck do I know? See ya Emi, not sure thereās a good way to leave, but the loss of the character in the dressing room is as much a loss as the ability.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
If heās not playing, Iād suggest the deal is done
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Iām still free of that shit, but just use the unfollow button, your feed is what you choose it to be
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I hate it. 3 seasons of European football on the trot & this is the reward? Make it make sense. Iām really having a bit of a struggle to love the game at the moment
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
This feels more like a January window signing, but we all know weāre in a massively restrictive position financially
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Iām hoping itās a case of everyone at Utd looking shit
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Hopefully both, complimentary skillsets
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Theyād certainly be a complimentary pair. I feared for Asensio in this current team, who heād bounce off. These 2 gives us a lot more quality on the ball in the final 3rd. Really hope weāre looking at the defence too, looks threadbare for a long season
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I think itās a shift to a more technical player, a passing player rather carrying. Can understand the appeal given how crap weāve been with the ball this season.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, any move would have to be dependent on getting a replacement. From what I can gather tho itāll be no issue if he stays, heās super professional
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Well, he doesnāt tend to report much thatās not true, but that doesnāt necessarily mean the deal will get done. Apparently Potter wants to keep him
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Been a slow burner this one. He was leaving, had terms agreed with them, but they wouldnāt meet our valuation, so the deal died.
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Heās just not great with the ball, which is a bit of a concern for a CM. Heās a physical presence, destructive, but for that sort of money Iād expect him to be able to play a bit too
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Thatās a lot of fist pumps!! I donāt mind him at all, itās the price tag I mind
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Ā£50m still looks a wild purchase

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Iāve not long started it too, superb read. Just read up to when we survived the drop in our first season back up
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Imagine what heāll be like when he properly gets his groove back. City killed him. Still love the bloke. Bet he barely lost the ball all game either?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
How was Jack?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
No way weāll play 2 out & out wingers dude, let alone with Maatsen too
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I think itās more not yet, than wonāt. Itās not that black & white
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Not necessarily about being scrappy, altho that doesnāt help. Itās defensive positioning. Rogers does his role there pretty well
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
He wonāt be the last player under Emery who takes a while to figure out whatās expected. I agree tho, I did think heād be starting on the right
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
From what I can gather, he wasnāt doing it pre season when played wide, so he has had that chance. Heāll be expected to do very specific things for a manager like Emery, you have to be šÆ in on that
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Guessand still settling, I get that, but Malen had a strong pre season. I said earlier my understanding is heās not trusted yet to do the off the ball work Emery demands from his wide players. If he can work a bit harder going backwards, heāll be in
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Me too. The whole thing just looks very stale to be honest. It might just be a genuine slow start, but weāve got a lot of players who have been with us quite a long time now. Continuity is a good thing, but you also have to refresh & evolve, and that includes players. PSR probably a big part of why
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely mate, everything youāve said there is accurate. Weāre short, for sure
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Bogarde really isnāt great at CB, thatās why, but youāre right, technically heās 4th choice. Iām hoping the start to the season the reality check we need, but the fact still remains that weāre hamstrung by PSR & SCR.

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social)
That was worryingly terrible. No goals in 2 games isnt the start we hoped for. Hope weāve got some masterstroke transfers lined up this week, but UE hasnāt helped us with his team selections so far either. Distinct lack of pace & dynamism in the starting team. Some poor individual performances 2 tho

He wasnāt great with the ball first half, as were most of the team. Heās still huge off the ball though. 2nd half he was great, but playing at CB meant surely that any forward ball was āprogressiveā?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
It all depends on what goes out mate, but from what I can gather Asensio is coming back, but whether thatās loan or permanent weāll have to see

Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely, I was surprised at that selection
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Managers leave, by their choice or ours. Itās the nature of the game. I donāt think thereās anything going on that he didnāt anticipate though & no other club would give him the level of control he has at Villa. Thereās a lot to be said for that
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Completely out of our hands tho, isnāt it? Itās a grossly unfair system, but itās what weāre stuck with currently. Itās making me love the game a little less, if not my club. Iām fully expecting Emery to tighten us up this season, itās how weāve probably found most success under him tbf
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
I was surprised Maatsen didnāt start tho, especially alongside Ty. Heās been strong pre season & Digne looked a bit stodgy today
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Cash was getting well forward 2nd half tbf, it had clearly been addressed. And given the choice of Rogers left or right, weād all pick left, surely?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
As I said, 1st half was awful, no arguments there. U just donāt know how the game goes 11 v 11. Weād have probably introduced Guessand at some point, which could have won us the game
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Newcastle press like that regardless mate, and I can understand against the speed of their front 3 why youād want the stronger, quicker defender. Thatās the compromise between the 2 tho isnāt it?
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Bit harsh dude. 1st half was poor, but 2nd half was perfectly acceptable until the red
Jamie Gray (@jmgray80.bsky.social) reply parent
Definitely as long as Konsa is missing mate. See what we do next game, or if we go Pau/Mings
