I did read it and it's completely baseless. You're predicating your point on the completely fabricated notion that illegals and/or non-citizens vote. They don't. The election was very close and the gains made by pubs don't really reflect a measurable change in society at all.

Sex-change surgeries are rare in people under 18 and did not move the needle. The economy is critical but it was actually growing at the time of the election and "concepts of a plan" isn't an viable strategy so it was clearly something else that compelled people to vote for a convicted criminal.
The move to the right is just reactionary but not sustainable - which is why the Pubs are trying to dismantle democratic norms and force the shift. Societal norms have been moving left slowly but steadily and show no signs of stopping.
The pubs in charge now are using the DEI boogeyman to remove almost every lesbian and gay mention they can find. State pubs are ignoring their constituents. The trans issue didn't sway people to Trump who weren't already going to.
Younger male voters, specifically. Conservatives in red states voted locally to preserve abortion rights despite also voting for Trump - but now we are seeing state republicans back-slide on that and ignore the people. Older pubs did care about gay rights/marriage but they lost and dropped it...

Young men are finding out that they aren't as competitive when they don't have their advantages. Women, in particular, are crushing them in higher education. Instead of upping their game, however, they are putting their energy into taking down the institutions that don't pander to them.
Late night tv loses that kind of money per year for the reasons I listed - not because people are tired of comedians making fun of people who utterly deserve it.

I think there are an uncomfortably large number of democrats and liberals who have no problem with ICE and don't care about protecting the rights of anyone aside from themselves. Cowards are easier to get rid of, though, than devout fascists.
I agree with this completely but I don't think which candidate will get more votes is necessarily obvious. Another poster snarked about milquetoast democrats but there's a lot of truth in that. A very large number of people will vote to avoid dealing with anything that makes them uncomfortable.
Let me step back here. I 100% want Newsom utterly out of the picture and I believe he is too poisonous to run as anything other than a Republican. My original point wasn't based on primaries, it was based on people bailing out once the choices have been decided upon.
