The grace and patience Black women are required to carry every day in this country, but also specifically when being assaulted, is truly exceptional. If one of those service members had rightly knocked her out in self-defense, they could’ve been assaulted by the husband, arrested, or murdered.

I had forgotten how much I enjoy this episode (Disaster, S5 E5). Picard has to work with children, Deanna has to take command, Worf has to help deliver a baby. It’s so chaotic but there’s so much growth and it’s somehow also still hilarious.
