I am on my way to Bristol, Va., where I will drop off my boots made by Lisa Sorrell to be part of an upcoming exhibition of her work at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Lisa named them "Baby I'm Blue," after one of my songs.

I don't much care about Cracker Barrel rebranding or using a new logo. However, the amount of family history lost to its walls has always given me pause. I know that those old portraits are from estate sales and likely weren't wanted by the families. Still, it always made me sad to see.

Listen a lot, and try to find some jam sessions where you can stretch your wings. Another option is a music camp like Augusta in WV, or Ashokan Bluegrass in upstate NY. There are a lot of good instructional opportunities online as well... Peghead Nation is a good one to check out. Happy picking!
