I don't much care about Cracker Barrel rebranding or using a new logo. However, the amount of family history lost to its walls has always given me pause. I know that those old portraits are from estate sales and likely weren't wanted by the families. Still, it always made me sad to see.
I think that when a descendant hasn't met a forefather/mother, they're less inclined to keep those old mementos. Passing family lore on via oral history is a lost art. I think that's what were seeing. Hopefully, the Internet's "infinite memory" will keep our stories relevant much longer.
I'm hoping that they made changes to the menu, but I see your point.
Cracker Barrel brand, let them do what they want the new GAP ad is crushing it. Google it.
With all the other stuff going on in this country being upset about a redo a restaurant logo seems rather absurd.

And as I'm giving away things to Goodwill and Salvation Army, I feel that. Problem is, no one in the family wants any of this stuff and there's not a "next generation" to hand it down to. I don't want to see Mom's stuff on Cracker Barrel walls, though.
I have the same sadness walking through goodwill.
I do believe the wall of a popular restaurant is better than the junkyard alternative. Anonymity but at least continued existence.
Yeah, but imagine yourself walking into a Cracker Barrel and seeing the family heirlooms on the walls. It would be weird.
