Mine were crappy until I got a decent tripod. It would be some freak of nature to hold a camera still for that long.

I used a Nikon D810 back then. I've since also added a Nikon Coolpix P-1000. I'm not very good on the technical end of it. I have lots of misses that you'll never see on here, but sometimes I get lucky. A good tripod helps a lot, too, especially for night pics.

I'm in the same boat, in that I never used twitter. I figure we each decide the level of interaction that suits our individual personallities. I cherish partaking in the artistic vision of each photograph. Some are whimsical, some are full of deep meaning. All are breathtaking.

It has been a very wet summer, so there is much more green than usual.
I joke to people here about how every little town has its festival, where everyone comes together around the town tree.

So true. Too many people pour so much of themselves into acquiring things instead of acquiring experiences that build memories.
I had several NFT buy attempts months ago. They said much of the stuff you posted here. As soon as they tried to move it (usually to WhatsApp), I blocked and fled. One thing that helped was that I know most of my photos aren't that good once they're blown up, so I know their flattery is bullshit.

I've silently pondered the history behind places I've lived, but you've really dug into it. Each house has a story, and you've worked hard to uncover their hidden character. I lived in MI for about 22 years, but I've never known much about that side of the state. Thanks.
Hoping you get it figured out. For me, I developed a new normal when I retired. Most of my last 10 years was spent working overnight. Now, I tend to be up until 1 or 2 am, and get up around 11 or so. I'm following what my body tells me to do. The advantage of not having a schedule.

Things are never the way we remember them. I wonder, in cases like this, if my brain recorded the memory accurately? What I saw was very different than how I remembered it. The main thing that verified it was the right place was that hill.

It was a special thrill to reconnect with a memory from 50 years ago.
It can be nothing more than willful ignorance. I was seeing news stories about their agenda for a year and a half. Many of us posted about it incessantly before the election. Unfortunately, the U.S. will have to pay some heavy consequences for things to change.
