A lot of what we’re seeing from Szobo is that he can now be more immersed in the game as he’s playing deeper. Genuinely believe that’s how to get the best of him, not to just have him running back like a dog from a number 10. But to dominate play moving forward from the back.

Would agree with this. I grew up playing hockey, did umpire qualification to try and help out with numbers. Umpired one game. Got so much abuse from my own team (and the people I would have looked to for support), that I vowed never to do it again. I was dreadful at it, they were assholes.

I have an inclination that Guehi stays at Palace, for this I blame but can’t really blame the outspoken words of Glasner who has put Steve Parish in a very difficult position. If Guehi doesn’t get the move he wants, does he carry on as he has been? I’d be furious if I was Parish.
This way we can have Alexis, Grav and Wirtz on the pitch too, with Jones ready to rotate, and for Bradley and Frimpong to rotate with Szobo and Salah respectively when needed, that way if Alexis needs a break Szobo can move to midfield.

He adds so much to the team when he’s in it. They always said that if Trent can do what he does from right back, then why move him to the middle. I kind of feel the same way about Szobo. The deeper he plays the move involved he is, he’s better when he can see the whole pitch and what’s ahead of him.
