I think @nadler.house.gov stepping down in favor of someone younger is great. And I also think good longtime members like him who have always voted for progressive causes have earned the right to decide what they want to do.
Mills’ approval is still over 50% in almost every poll, but I agree that her age is a deterrent. And now that Platner is making a splash she may not want to wade in to a real primary. Since I don’t think she really wants to commute to DC at this point anyway.
Except that it’s completely based on nothing. First of all, it’s never the “DNC,” it would be the DSCC & Schumer. It’s the DCCC if it’s a House seat. But Mills’ arm has been twisted out of its socket all along. If anything, Platner’s emergence might make it *less* urgent.
