But there isn't that much overlap between MAHA and hardcore MAGA. MAHA is like 5% of the people that voted for Trump. I think Trump just rewarded RFK Jr for his support and is weirdly loyal to the guy for whatever reason. Maybe he likes being associated with the Kennedy name

The fact that Bill Cassidy said something was somewhat encouraging (lowest of low bars I know, but at least someone stepped over it). We will see how his testimony at the Senate goes. I'm keeping my 🤞

Cassidy voted to confirm RFK after supposedly buying the lie that as HHS secretary he wouldn’t touch the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. It took him like three months to fire the whole committee.

Jeffries/Schumer are objectively bad at their jobs. McConnell is evil but was actually good at, you know, advancing his agenda. Schumer is laughable compared to him. What's bizarre is that Dems will insist that they have it together bc they aren't all Hunger Games on leadership like GOP

Yesterday, HSI and MPD set up a checkpoint on Rhode Island Ave in DC. Neighbors stood on either end, holding signs saying “LA MIGRA ADELATE.” As HSI and MPD started to pack it up, residents told them, “we don’t think you’re good Americans” and “fuck you guys, go home.”

🚨ICE agents are racially profiling and arresting Hispanic drivers in the DC area today, targeting work vehicles like trucks and vans. A friend who was targeted sent me video today. Here’s a picture that shows one of two agents before he pulled on his mask. Unmarked black Ford truck, plate: NTV9211.

I am more concerned with the generic ballot being D+1 despite everything. Yeesh, this country is cooked

Ever notice leftists have to take accountability for opinions/views they don't even personally have, but all conservatives are endlessly "manipulated by fox news and right wing media"? They, the ideology in charge, have no responsibility. The oppositional resistance has to answer for everything.

It should go without saying but I find this whole "If the GOP had a spine, they'd stand up to Trump!" As pointlessly performative. Why would they go against the wishes of their constituents like that? They wouldn't keep their jobs. And broadly they basically want what's happening.

Refusing to honestly engage with the fact that Trump is popular among the GOP and they are broadly supportive of his agenda means that you get to write fun little snappy takes about spineless congressional GOP, but it obscures the broader reality we need to grapple with. People want this.

Antivax and anti-public health were in the ballot in 2024. They’re not springing this on the public by surprise, they campaigned on it—along with anti-science, and at the highest level anti-truth—then a plurality elected them. Some explicitly voted for it. Others didn’t care. But this was a choice.

“The recent change in the adult and children’s immunization schedule threaten the lives of the youngest Americans and pregnant people.” This should be one of the biggest scandals in America right now. And every Democrat should be loudly calling for RFK Jr’s resignation
