I live in an LTN that's been there 50 years and it's literally nothing like living on a desert island. It's totally easy to get modern amenities like "post" and also get work done by tradesmen e.g. "plumbers" or even "electricians". They just can't take a shortcut by driving through my garden.

Also important to note that for lots of the people of Dolgarrog, it's important for them that they're not *just* known as the village where a disaster killed a bunch of people.

The number of daytrippers from Manchester/Liverpool/Bham and #vanlife people means a tourism tax for overnight stays can only ever be a partial solution. Asking people to pay for parking, or pay more for parking, maybe with some being used to support Mountain Rescue, is probably next biggest part.

Gels are generally much of a muchness. You can get SIS ones in Tesco, but sometimes I buy STYRKR or Kendal mint ones online. For day to day riding, haribo or wine gums are good and cheap. But I do have a tendency to impulsively snack on those in a way I'd never with gels...
