Where you are spot on is that the administration, in making all compliance voluntary, allowed countless people to die. Because they trusted the public and corporations to do what was right. This is the fundamental weakness. I first got Covid on a job when my union ceased testing. It killed my dog.

I think a crucial takeaway for progressives moving forward: we need to learn to differentiate between politicians who are not nearly as progressive as we would like them to be vs. horrible right-wing politicians. Progressives are very bad at making this distinction.
