I know my usual beat is AltNPS, but since yesterday when this Politico article dropped, I've seen a lot of chatter about the ICE List, an activist project focused on unmasking ICE officers. That's a noble goal. ICE doesn't deserve to hide. But I want to encourage some healthy skepticism here.

But by far and away, the biggest priority for a Heritage Foundation-captured CDC is going to be using the agency's legal frameworks for access to medical data, and weaponizing them to control women. *Most* of the Project 2025 plan for CDC is a witch hunt against abortion on an unprecedented scale.
It also 100% explains their fixation on trans people and bathrooms.
In summary, the average child sexual predator’s profile is: married, male, white, heterosexual, religious, surrounded by friends and family, and a parent.
Further: the mass shooter profile is a white male with a history of domestic violence (and/or online misogyny).

Texas absolutely has the money - to fully fund rural hospitals and public schools. The GOP simply chooses not to. And since rural areas keep electing MAGAs, it’s seems to me this is the outcome they want.
The other aspect of this death spiral: as rural HC collapses, care is directed to big cities (ie Houston). We take in even more uninsured care; those with private health insurance close the funding gap with higher & higher premiums. This is already the case in TX.

They use multiple data points including race, zip code, and voting in primaries - which is by party. So they can see if a person voted in an R or D primary and if they voted in a general election. Registering as an R doesn’t really accomplish anything.
