Mamie Till-Mobley’s strength and courage in insisting on the open coffin and having everyone SEE the brutal evil that was done to her child, changed the country. Heroic.

His mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, deserves nationwide recognition & thanks for her strength & courage, and her words, in letting everyone SEE the brutal evil that was done to her child. It changed the country. She did get a Congressional Gold Medal. But we should ALL know her name!

Wait, what’s the difference between “display” and “gender” here? All that display is due to sexual selection. * Peacock tails. * Irish elk antlers. * Big toothy hooked jaws on returning salmon (never going to eat anything ever again). * Teenagers doing dangerous stunts on skateboards.

Unsupervised “self”-training is not going to magically restrict itself to the accurate stuff. It can’t. The corpus available is there because the (nominally) adult, (allegedly) thinking humans can’t stick to reality either.

“Self”-trained LLMs’ entire job is *making shit up.* It _cannot_ give you accuracy. Ever.

Staff & vols dove in the “Dome” tank every day *with sharks*, and not even the visitors worried about the dogfish hurting anyone. But once in a while someone had to get into the (rather deep) otter tank. Very rarely, *with* the otters still in there. We always asked afterwards: “Are you OK?!”
S Zimsen (@kelpmonster.bsky.social) reply parent
I worked at an aquarium. Otters with fist-sized *rocks* cause enough problems. Otters with a combination chisel, pry bar, and screw-remover would wreak just outlandishly terrifying – and unpredictable – mayhem.
