Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life. The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.

I just skimmed through 3 news articles on ā€œwho was Charlie Kirk?ā€ and not one mentioned any of his abhorrent views. Martyrdom for ā€œholding Christian valuesā€ coming right up. šŸ™„

Why We Keep Getting Sick. A chat shows how people are constantly unwell. It’s not about ā€œcatching upā€ on bugs from lockdowns—Covid infections themselves weaken immunity, making people more likely to pick up illness again and again. Source: x.com/1goodtern/st...

Tern @1goodtern I had one of those chats today that just left me despairing. Me: How was your summer? Her: Pretty awful really. We've just been sick again on holiday. Me: All of you? Her: All of us, but I've caught every single bug all summer. All year. I don't understand it... Her:... I don't understand it. I feel like I should have picked up immunity to all these bugs by now. Me: Well, I guess that's part of the problem. There are loads of viruses that make you *more* vulnerable to other infections. So if you get one, then you may get more. Her: But that's not what they've said. They said that we needed to catch up on infections that we missed during covid. Me: They only said that because they were trying to explain why everyone was sicker after they caught Covid. Me: And the truth is that every covid infection makes you more vulnerable to other infections. Her: But I thought covid was just a cold now. Me: You're the one who said that even now five years later, you're still catching up on bugs, but you've had even more than you ever could have missed out on in three months of lockdown. Her: Well, we're not able to live like you do, so I guess we'll just keep catching it until it goes away. Me under my breath: or until you do.😢

It is likely to face a fierce backlash in the parliament and from accountability advocates. The attorney general, Michelle Rowland, tomorrow will introduce legislation the government says will ā€œimprove Australia’s broken FoI systemā€, claiming the changes would prioritise ā€œgenuineā€ requests and prevent taxpayer money being used on ā€œfrivolous and automated requestsā€. Currently anyone can make a request for government information, from the prime minister’s diary and emails with foreign leaders down to personal information held about oneself. Making a request is free, but departments can level charges for the time to process a request – from searching for documents and redacting them to ensure they don’t contain sensitive information. Rowland said the government would ban anonymous requests, ā€œstrengthenā€ application requirements to ā€œdeter vexatious and frivolous requestsā€ and add a ā€œnew fee-structureā€. Her office said there would be fee exemptions for personal information, which accounted for 72% of requests in 2023-24. But for journalists, politicians and other experts seeking access to government information, a fee will apply. The government has not said exactly how much, but it is likely to reflect modest charges at the state level – around $50 per request. Rowland’s office claimed the FoI system was under strain from websites or artificial intelligence in ā€œenabling large volumes of vague, anonymous, vexatious, abusive and frivolous requests – tying up resources, costing taxpayers money and delaying genuine requestsā€.

It does feel like several years of police escorts for this clown & his goons every time they decided to parade their hate around was maybe not the best approach?

Oop, my bad. Thomas Sewell was apparently defending himself when he and his boyfriends stormed up a hill and bashed women begging them to leave. Thanks for clarifying, Herald Sun. Very responsible reporting. Good to see that providing cover for Nazis is how you’re choosing to play this one

Screen grab from the herald sun: Neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell defends storming sacred Indigenous site Prominent neo-Nazi Thomas Sewell claims he was defending himself and others when he ambushed a sacred Indigenous site at the weekend, as he became involved in another heated confrontation outside court.

It’s such a lazy argument.šŸ’© They all made a choice to attend, and assuming some of them are so stupid they didn’t know Nazis would be there, the fact that they fucking stayed says everything we need to know.

I saw someone trying to excuse it because ā€œpeople are unhappyā€. Mate, I’m furiously unhappy about underfunded Medicare & state schools, the NDIS being systematically fucked, nothing being done to elevate the socio-economic status of Indigenous ppl & much more. But I’m still not joining a Nazi rally.

Where’s all the hysterical media coverage on the violent Neo Nazi hate crime against First Nations people at Camp Sovereignty? Gone quiet now. Is that because it’s not at a synagogue?

Note about the racist marches yesterday (with actual Nazis!) and the conspicuous silence from the antisemitism alarmists: if the enemy of your enemy is a racist, and you have somehow concluded that that makes the racist your friend, congratulations you are a racist too.
