This might be true but if it is we are in trouble. Interactive media replacing just the written word I understand but there is no depth in 10 second clips. Ronny Chieng is right you have to do the reading there is a book behind the hashtag.

With ads, that were well done like yours mostly were, I knew what I was going to get. I know ads probably aren’t enough. I hope this is constructive feedback. I want to go to the verge every morning (and again throughout the day) while listening to the vergecast.
I love both you and nilay, there’s never been a site as good as the verge, well except OG Engadget and thisismynext of course. I cringed when I saw the post about a subscription, I know it’s a tough landscape and never used an ad blocker because it was the price of admission and I accepted that.
If I wanted to share something I really couldn’t. I had similar experiences with Wired, NYT and WSJ. I use Apple News+ ,it’s not without frustration either but within the app I get a smoother experience.
Fair question. I’m not sure honestly. I’m averse to subscription websites because my experience is they work poorly. I tried the Athletic for example and it was always clunky and hard to use place to place. There was always friction in the experience.
I also don’t know why they think a limited edition magazine is something I want. But I’d love to hear is it’s something others do want. Maybe I’m out of touch. It seems like something writers would like to make but it would have limited appeal.

I get it, but I also think change is inevitable even if we as humans aren’t built to be ready for it. I do think AI is progression. Every craftsman has protested the coming next thing. I’m sorry change impacts people negatively but I’m not willing to limit progress from moving forward.

This is really damning. NJ State Troopers, unhappy with a report on racial bias incidents, just stopped doing traffic enforcement, and seemingly weren’t on the roads (as evidenced by a vehicle from a fatal hit and run being abandoned for hours before anyone noticed).

I used an unofficial software update to a MINI Clubman to add CarPlay the hardware was already there. $129 I think and well worth it. MINI/BMW could’ve charged me double and I would’ve paid it. Nope they wouldn’t so I took the risk and it paid off.
Yeah it should be interesting. Lafontaine is a very large dealer, that is one of many many locations in Metro Detroit. But once it’s hacked by one it will be hacked by many. There will be solutions I think outside of official dealers. It’s kind of inevitable I think.
I did. I mean if one Chevy dealer can then they all can BUT Chevy/GM could also tell them NOT to. The warranty comes from GM not the dealer. Based on GM’s stance I can’t believe they would be okay with that being undermined. I also think other 3rd parties will figure this type of workaround out.
I’m glad to see this, it was only a matter of time. But now will GM try to void your warranty for modding your car? That’s the kind of punitive response I expect. Now @reckless.bsky.social can ask someone at GM what they think of this development in an interview.
Yeah, I have a place in rural Michigan. I could make phone calls on 3G, 4G made it possible to get moderately good Internet speeds I even patched servers remotely. Then 5G came out, 3G got turned off and I can’t make a call, send a text, or load a simple webpage. So 6G can’t likely make it worse

I really would like the game to only have one type of control scheme. Level the playing field. The kick meter options are even worse.

I think I’m over worrying about CCS vs NACS. So long as there is an adapter and I can utilize a Tesla Supercharger it’s fine. Remember all of Europe (maybe the whole rest of the world) is using CCS (even Tesla outside of the US and Canada). So I don’t think there is ever just one standard
