The only thing I donāt like about the 18 year terms is that it locks in the court at 9 members and I really think we would be better served by expanding the Court. One Justice per federal circuit (hell, even make them serve in the circuit court when the Supreme Court is not in session again)
One of the other major problems with her argument is that (assuming the amendment applied to all federal judgeships and not just the Supreme Court) there is no judge who could rule on the merits due to a conflict of interest
It does depend on how the amendment is crafted, and whether Congress either through its article I power or via the amendment limit the courtsā jurisdiction on the issue
