Water update: I put in the new control box. It worked! We had water! … For about thirty seconds, until the main pipe popped apart. I don’t have any PVC cement. Thankfully an extended family member does and is coming to help.

Know what? I’m not done. This attitude also stigmatizes parents, esp. birthing parents, who don’t feel that “typical” instant overpowering love. Not feeling it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, bad parent, or that you’ll never have powerful love for/connection with your kid. Sometimes it takes time.
So fun when people are like “You will NEVER understand the concept of love AT ALL until you have children” and it’s like. Yeah. Thanks. I would fight a polar bear for my niblings but I don’t understand love and never will. Got it.

I live in a place so rural that I can see the milky way even in partly cloudy conditions. This place has its drawbacks, but I sure wouldn’t trade the stars.
