One wonders how much of that spending by the unpowerful was put on cred cards so that a parent didn’t have to disappoint a child’s expectations about what s/he needs (or wants) for back to school. In other words, if the expenditures were on a cred card, was really it a strong back to school season?

Great ... the US is driving India toward Russia and China, as if penalizing India (in a way -- tariffs -- that hurts many many Indian small businesses and the workers they employ) for buying Russian oil will make anyone in India think well of the US. Good going, stable genius.

The international business people I spoke with did not have blinders on about India’s faults. They were, however, surprised that Americans had permitted the fall of the rule of law in (what seemed to them) a short period of time.
I recently spent 3 months in India and spoke there with people (business people) from all over the world. They do not respect the current government. And they lost respect for the people of America because after J6 we voted for him again. “Guns” and “America is unreliable” were the top complaints.

Republicans snuck a provision into the rule for the CR that would preemptively surrender congressional authority to block tariffs. When House Republicans vote for this rule today, they will also be voting to support Trump's tariffs and all the resulting damage to the US economy
And Alito seems to have forgotten that that $2 billion (if I understand correctly) was for contractors who had ALREADY completed work that they expected to be paid for
I understand that the DNC focuses on elections they think they can win. But that’s tantamount to giving up the long game: red areas get redder. Blue seeds need to be sown so they can grow in the near future. (This is one reason I won’t give money to the DNC. I only give to candidates.)
