The culture war has been working in Missouri since 2008. Obama nearly won the state that year, but we have voted solidly red since. The redder we got, the less the DNC fought, and we have been in a free-fall since. Little funding for Dems — even less organization. A self fulfilling prophecy.
The national party absolutely dropped the ball. They let this happen.
I understand that the DNC focuses on elections they think they can win. But that’s tantamount to giving up the long game: red areas get redder. Blue seeds need to be sown so they can grow in the near future. (This is one reason I won’t give money to the DNC. I only give to candidates.)
I have a family member that has worked and now works again for the DNC at the highest level. The strategy they are taking is ‘let MAGA do the damage while we sit back and watch’. As a born/raised Missourian I feel this is a very bad strategy. People like to see their elected officials fight. Fight!
I have been wondering where the hell they have been. That is a horrible strategy. Unless they have a date that they stop sitting back and finally speak up. It would be nice for them to have a YouTube channel for leaders to speak. And a place to show where marches are.
That would require extra work and I am beginning to think Dems are too lazy. AOC and Bernie are on the attack. I was not a fan of either politician in the past - were too progressive for me. I was a solid Pete Buttigieg fan. But now I think we need radical. We need to make a ruckus! Good trouble.
There are several other dems fighting back. Jasmine Crocket for one. She walked out of the address to Congress last night in the middle of it. Also, a giant thank you to Al Green last night. He wasn’t taking their crap. They all should have stood up for Al last night.
Thankful for both Jasmine and Al. Just wish the Dems would have had a coordinated effort. Like each Dem gets a topic and if he hits on it they yell back the truth. Interrupt his speech every few minutes. Make Orange guy frustrated.
I’m waiting for the Dems to actually define this as a class war, and attempt to to reach Republican voters.
In their heads they think ‘how could we possibly lose with the damage MAGA is doing?’. Well… how long was Hitler in power? I think that Churchill’s defiance of Germany’s attacks on his country turned the psyche of his countrymen, Germany and the world. We all have to fight. Resist now not later.

If these tariffs stick, they need to get into Missouri and hold those town halls, show them the dems care and start Planting those seeds!

It's one of the reasons the states got redder and he's been part of that leadership for the last ten+ years. The $250k pay check is 👍
