Thanks. That is exactly what the NG is not supposed to be. Regarding safety, I’m white woman in her sixties. I walk all over Capitol Hill, the Mall, and Navy Yard, often by myself, even at night. There is no crisis justifying Trump’s deployment of NG and federal agents. Nowhere is 100% safe.
That’s true. Please understand that while no one likes crime, and we have had a problem lately with youths committing crime, no one I know thinks this is the answer. Authoritarian countries do tend to have less crime, but that’s not a society I would choose to live in.
DC resident here. Contrary to your belief, Mayor Bowser is likely to suffer at the polls for her embrace of the occupation. She got a very negative reaction to her statement.
