I love the game (several dozen hours in it iirc) but I my biggest gripe is that, as a simulation game, it is currently undersaturated- more lateral forms of complexity would be nice, but there’s an annoying lack of variety in buildings (in the biggest map you end up with like 2 copies of each type)

Even if the individual artist objects to the use of GenAI in their discipline(s), can they stop their profession from adopting it. A worst-case scenario, in my imagination, is that the professions of “artist” and “writers” become primarily mass generators of training materials for GenAI.
The professionalization of art seems to me like a vital lens to be looking at GenAI and copyright through- both because of AI policies that real unions have already negotiated over, and because what these professions may evolve into if/when GenAI becomes ubiquitous.
I’ve seen multiple videos and articles that talk about AI and labor in the abstract, and then AI and art at the philosophical level, but completely avoid confronting artists *as* laborers- almost like a willful ignorance.
