Yeah, I’m from the rural USA, where consolidating districts has already been done as a cost-cutting measure. The bus routes do have to change because you’re busing students from the farthest reaches of the district to a single school farther away, not to their more local pre-consolidation school.

Suburbanites do not understand, I swear. Going into the city for a show is their equivalent activity to rural dwellers going out for a walk, to sit by the pond, etc. Also, the internet use. We had dial-up ten years longer, and then we lost satellite every cloudy day. Outdoors was all there was!
I had a very similar experience. I grew up on a farm surrounded by other farms, and it turns out that in suburban or urban areas I am very outdoorsy and don’t do well without my active outdoors time! 😆
