I recently saw a bumblebee sitting very still on a flower. Getting closer, I realized that it had been caught by a #spider. The color-changing crab spider feasted for quite some time before dropping the bee carcass, then waited several days to see if it could catch another. #InverteFest

I think they're neat, but it would certainly depend on the resources available. If it's a choice between meeting people's basic needs (food, shelter, education, healthcare) and having fancy water towers, basic needs should always come first.

I had no idea some spiders decorate their webs. Some orb-weaver spiders create zigzag patterns called stabilimenta in their webs. One hypothesis is that the stabilimenta help birds avoid these webs. #Spiders #InverteFest
