My son has white-blond hair, and his hair took on an orange tint when he was a toddler for this reason. Doctor said don’t worry, but we backed off. Man oh man, did he love carrots. Still does.

This is true. We are currently more self-centered than ever. It’s all part of the same disease that brought us to this point.
It feels that way here too. Every login brings an overwhelming onslaught of new horrors, whether days apart or hours.
I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
In Sarasota today we marched a 700 foot pride flag across the bridge to Lido Key and back again. So much positivity. I missed Philly, but the weather and views were a lot better here!
I missed being in Philly today, but Sarasota did themselves proud for #nokings and #pride. Great energy and turnout. So much honked support from the cars passing by, and endless looks of surprised delight from their passengers.

In Montco, if you live near the NHSL, it runs every 20 minutes during business hours, connecting to the MFL (now the L) at 69th.
I do think Drexel Hill has more options for a short walk to two options. I’m less than 10 minutes from both the trolley and bus. Both also get me to a nearby grocery store, or to Media for restaurants. I usually drive to those, but I was planning ahead for my daughter, who I don’t think will.
Other parts of Delco offer similar combos. Lansdowne puts you near a regional and trolley. Swarthmore and Media can work. Depends on exactly where you live.
The total combined travel time is about 10 minutes more than on a regional train, but that’s ok for me. The MFL is not as pleasant a ride as the regionals.
I chose Drexel Hill because we have both trolleys and buses that go to 69th Street, and then the MFL from 69th into the city runs every 6 minutes during business hours and every 10 at most other times. Trolley and bus are every half hour. I can usually leave within 15 minutes on one or the other.

Eggs have been costing less for me, so this particular gov data seems ok. However, I think it’s because bird flu cases in commercial farms dropped over the last months. They’re expected to rise again as birds migrate north. Maybe buy your eggs for the rest of the year now while prices are lower.
Today my daughter discovered a hummingbird moth (one of her favorites ❤️) in our garden. Every year we plant more native plants, and every year we discover more kinds of insects. Of course, we also seem to have attracted the neighborhood skunk.
The way home from work takes me by here, the liberty bell, and the constitution center, and this year I keep finding myself muttering, “I’m sorry, so sorry, so sorry”.

Tonight I saw the Transylvanian High School Choir sing. Most HS performances are best seen by friends and family. But this was just AMAZING. Professional quality, interesting repertoire, great arrangements, moving. Uplifting. Go see them.
