I live in Dublin and there's absolutely no way I would drive my bike into town. It's just crazy at the moment and the poor deliveroo drivers are getting a kick in. The Garda have no interest and fortunately there's a few bike guys taking it upon themselves to recover stolen bikes.
Don't come to Dublin, it's theft city when it comes to bikes. If you do you'll need to make sure you have secure parking, ideally underground or in a locked garage. Enjoy your trip but seriously Dublin has a serious problem regarding bike theft

Excalibur 1981 is phenomenal and IMO the only true Arthurian movie. Mabinogion is obviously the major source of Arthur but if you just want the thomas Mallory then it's a great read. Been doing it for 30 years. You know yourself regarding making everything smaller and lighter. It's all about compact. Drove from Ireland to Germany for a rally and had a 6 man tent, double air bed, 2 sleeping bags, pump for air bead and clothes, tools for scooters and me for 2 weeks on one bike,ππ
This is us traveling through France however wasn't camping that holiday. However a well designed tent is a life saver, ours only had 2 polls and a few pins to set up. Could do it in less than 5 minutes
