IBS is a BITCH, and with not a whole lot of treatments available, and the only real option being talk therapy that doesn't seem to help, while I'm crying, in agony and wondering when my miserable life will end so the pain stops, maybe other options could be looked into....
In therapy, which I've been doing for years, and it doesn't help the way I need it to. I think, dealing with this for 14 years now, maybe I could have a say in what might work?? When I sometimes have such bad pain that I want to DIE, and I can't ever leave my house....you'd think you'd help...??
Recently, I thought about it and realized it would still be helpful, given that I AM agoraphobic due to IBS and being afraid of not having a bathroom near me at all times... She outright denied it and said "it's not a suitable treatment for my condition." She urged me to work on it ๐งต
Y'know what's awesome? I read a blog post from someone with severe IBS, who said getting a stoma bag helped improve her quality of life. Ok great. I asked my Dr a few years ago if this was possible for me. She said if it was pain I was worried about, the bag wouldn't help. I didn't push. ๐งต
