A charming cobbled street lined with pastel-coloured terraced houses beneath a dramatic, cloud-filled sky at dusk. Each house features distinct exterior walls painted in soft greens, blues, purples, and greys. Prominent eaves run along the rooflines—these shallow roof overhangs project slightly beyond the buildings, offering subtle protection from rain and casting gentle shadows on the façades. The eaves help define the architectural character of these older-style homes and reflect their traditional European design. Beneath the eaves, several houses display vintage entrance doors, some flanked by lantern-style wall lights. Along the base of the buildings are small potted plants and metal bins, including what appears to be an electric meter box mounted near one doorway. The cobbled street is composed of uneven stonework, with visible seams and a faint green tinge from moss growing in the gaps. The edges of the pavement are clearly marked by narrow concrete borders, separating the pedestrian walkway from the roadway. Further down, more terraced buildings extend into the distance, all maintaining similar architectural features and proportions.

The fall colours in Calgary lean more toward the orange, yellow, gold and brown palettes. Every now and then, we get a warmer fall that lets the leaves slowly lose their green, and this cotoneaster hedge in my friend's front yard had such a rich depth of colour with pops of pinky-reds and I simply had to capture it.
