The āunreasonable fearā argument is a good one. That definitely exists, but in those cases the hate continues by choice, because they donāt interact with the community theyāve been taught to hate. So, at some point the fear becomes irrational, and the hate becomes a choice.
I would push back on that to say theyāre not afraid of anything. Theyāre not afraid of black people, POC, gay people, trans people, people with disabilities, immigrants etc ceteraā¦ itās pure and simple hatred. The mechanism of hate othering has been effective for generations.
