The Ecover stuff is really bad on my skin. The washing up liquid caused all kinds of skin falling off and open wounds and the washing machine liquid makes me itch like mad. Cleans well though.

Yeah, the thermal throttling is problem the main issue. The MacBook M4 Air with no fans is going to have a hard time. It's a great laptop and probably better than most Windows laptops. I've not had a Mac since Apple Silicon became a thing. I think I believed a bit too much hype.
PC specs are Ryzen 9 5950x with 64GB DDR4 and Nvidia 4070ti Super, several SSD's (around 8TB over 3 drive's). MacBook Air specs are M4 with 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. *Full specs available on request.

Full disclosure. This is a MacBook Air M4 base model vs an AMD Ryzen 5950x with 64 GB RAM and Nvidia 4070Ti Super .
So, I was led to believe that Macs are super quick now. My PC is still about twice as fast in my experience when using Lightroom for tasks such as Denoise. The Mac is super quiet and efficient though.
