By a 7-4 vote, the full Federal Circuit has *affirmed* a lower-court ruling holding that many of President Trump’s tariffs exceed his statutory authority. The ruling won’t go into effect until October 14, though—which gives the Trump administration plenty of time to seek intervention from #SCOTUS:

Much of Trump's econ damage is slower-burning, longer-term—politicizing Fed, discarding rule of law, shaking down firms, degrading data, destroying talent pipeline, alienating trade partners etc These will have costs in the short-term, sure. But biggest costs will be evident in coming years, decades

I'm often asked why dire predictions about how Trump would destroy economy haven't (yet) come to pass. Part of the answer is that he's paused/delayed/reversed some things (e.g., TACO on tariffs). But part of the answer is about actions like this, on student visas...

People familiar with the matter, who spoke anonymously for fear of retribution, said Dr. Monarez appeared to have run afoul of Health Secretary Robert F. Because they don't like change and change of any kind is woke. A few years ago it would've been CRT to blame. The people upset about a chain restaurant logo redesign aren't actually upset, they were told to be upset and are being performative to demonstrate their fealty.

Haha that's good to hear, he led FORSCOM after my time so I didn't know that. And I was in INSCOM, so who knows if those nerds kept it up.

Yes, that's what happens when you're a soldier. You follow orders whether you like them or not, and "go pick up that trash" is a legal order. Christ, how old are you?

They’re not making the slightest pretense of doing anything but weaponizing a federal agency against Trump’s enemies, and the New York Times’ response is “Well played, sire!”

if you wind back the clock a year and say “trump will be president, he’ll tear up entire agencies without any legislative authority, ignore court orders, build a concentration camp, and send troops into multiple US cities” you wouldn’t ask “well how many troops?” before deciding what this describes

Hope the next Dem POTUS takes this approach when they throw Trump's ass in prison. If he's still alive after this term, that is. Better get all his lackeys and masked goons, too. Reconstruction 2.0 is coming.

So Israel can assassinate Ismail Haniyeh in Iran without any collateral damage, but it needed multiple strikes on a hospital to take out a single camera in Gaza? Bullshit. You shouldn't launder their bullshit.

The Framers made arguably one major mistake: They believed the legislative branch would jealously guard its power. They could not have fathomed that the legislative branch (Out of laziness, raw partisanship and a desire to keep their sinecures) would willingly surrender its power.

As a veteran who was also issued an army combat shirt and knows what that means, I was proud of this man's actions here. I'm gonna be pissed if this turns into a milkshake duck situation, though.

The old joke is that any good prosecutor could get a jury to indict a ham sandwich. Do you know how badly you have to be overcharging something for a grand jury to reject charges three times in a row? What an embarrassment.

This patriot is wearing an Army Combat Shirt which is only issued when you go downrange because it's flame resistant in case you fucking catch on fire while carrying out your duties in the name of your country.
